It has been said that organized religion was proliferated to ensure the ruled class could find meaning in an otherwise meaningless existence. Romans were an excellent example of how religion enforced a ruled society and their legacy is scattered all over the "Roman Catholic" countries in europe and extends throughout the world to regions settled by those countries. Religions are like sports teams. The more team members you have, the stronger your team. They actively recruit to become stronger. The stronger they become the more they grow. I believe that everything has a life cycle. Everything starts, grows, apexes, and comes crashing down. The Romans proved this, though their religion endured. It's life will cycle just as everything elses will. I don't believe in your god. I believe there was a Jesus, but he wasn't anymore the son of a god than you or I. He was just a man who understood, and happened to be christian. I don't believe that there is heaven or hell. I believe that when you die your soul experiences the ultimate orgasm and you scatter. I believe that we come back and come back and come back. Not always as people, and not even necessarily as plants or animals. I believe that we come back in whatever form is needed most in our chaotic systematic universe. Be it part of a camel, storm, some ones rage, or a drug. We just get cycled back into everything and start out to grow with it, apex, and crash down, only to do it again, forever. |
